Hello today was my second class with advanced I. I felt a little bit nervous, because the teacher pays attention to any detail in the class. Let me tell you that it was difficult for me to think in a warm up activity for the students because the teacher told me: “you should do this, or you should do that” and I couldn’t think and find the warm up that he want me to perform, so at the end I performed the “hot potato”.  And you already know what this game consists of.

In the presentation, the Ss work in their books, and then they saw a nice video that was named “never give up” I did a PDP and they participated a lot, I liked the way they gave their ideas about the video and their personal experience. But before that, I explained some minutes about grammar, since they were studying Phrasal verbs, a student asked me about Transitive and Intransitive phrasal verbs, so I explained to them. I liked this, because it made me go back and study more about this topic, so I learned as well.
I liked my class and felt comfortable but the teacher told me that I did not look sure, and that I explained to much grammar. I felt sad because I liked my class, I know that in some moments I made some mistakes and I’m conscious about that. Next time hopefully I can teach better as he wishes!

Thanks for your comments! God bless you!!!!

My first class (Second period)

Hello my dear classmates!!

I started my first class of the second period. This time I’m teaching advanced I in the morning with teacher Walter Alvarenga.

I started the class by greeting the students, and then I had a little chat with them. This group is very special for me since they were the first group I taught when I started the teaching practicum.

The warm up activity that I developed was “the magic wand” I took a wand to the class and asked them to stand up and come to the front, the question was: If you had a magic wand, what would you like to change? The students gave different opinions and ideas about the questions; it was nice because that activity made them to speak.

In the presentation phase, I wrote the word “challenge” on the board and I asked the Ss to give their opinion about that word (brainstorm).  After that they used their books and read an article in page 40.
In the grammar phase I explained a little about the “future progressive and the future perfect”. But I did not have time to develop the exercises; I just provided them some examples.

I enjoyed the class but the time is my problem, at the end I received the feedbacks and teacher told me that I need to know how to manage the time. I liked the feedbacks because in that way I can improve my class for next time!
