Hello!! This is my last blog entry for this period!  I’m glad that most of us have already finished with the teaching practicum of the first period!!
My last class was not excellent but good, I was assigned to teach a little of countable and uncountable nouns, after that I they have some practice about it.

Firs I started the class obviously with the warm up activity, I asked them to stand up and make two arrows, I gave a marker to the first Ss in the arrow and asked them to write a word in the white board, after that they have to pass the marker to the second Ss and start the next word with the last consonant or vowel of the previous word, and so on until they made stairs words.

After that, I practice repetition drills with the words that they had formed, in that moment I made a mistake in the pronunciation of the word “Easter” and something that I did not like was that the teacher stopped my class just to tell the Ss that my pronunciation in that word was not ok, so she corrected me in that way, I think it was not that appropriated. I consider that she should have done something different to correct my mistake.  I told the Ss that we, as practitioners are learning as well.

That day the students had an impromptu speech activity and for that reason the teacher did not let me finish my class, so I missed some activities with them.
At the end of the class I say goodbye to them! I gave them some tips about keep on studying hard, and the importance of our major.
And that was my last class I enjoyed them and I learned too!!

Bye!

Blessings forever!!!!

Second entry!

SECOND ENTRY

My second class with intermediate group was based on practices

First, as is common I started the class with the warm up activity, I know all of you know and like “Earthquake”. So, I like that kinesthetic activity because is funny and the Ss stress out. I can see how they laugh, and enjoy the game!

As I said before, the class was based on practice; the presentation phase was a reading comprehension, and the grammar part I spend a few minutes because it was a review. After that they had a listening comprehension about Kyoto I did those activities since they was going to have some evaluations.

I also handed out many pictures of beautiful places I put them around the classroom, then I asked the Ss to stand up and talk about the places they saw, which places they liked the most and why? If they know about the culture of the different places, etc.

At the end I did not have time for a dictation practice, so the teacher told me that my time had been over! At the end I took the feedback. I did not feel that comfortable because the teacher told me that I did not pronounce well some words, and I’m sure I did not mention some of the words that she told me, but I did not want to complain about it!

So, basically it was my second class!

Blessings!!

first entry!

Hello! Now I`m teaching intermediate English I, with teacher Karina Carranza.
I like the class, i like the way the students participate
First, i started my class greeting the students and then I performed a warm up activity named “Can't Say Yes or No”. Here I´m going to share with you the warm up activity. It can help you in your classess.

Can't Say Yes or No
In this game everyone is given a certain number of coins or squares of paper (about 10). Everyone moves around the room starting conversations and asking each other questions. The only rule is that you cannot say the words YES or NO. If you accidentally say one of these words, you have to give a coin or square to the person who you said it to. Try to trick each other by asking questions that you would almost always answer with a yes or no. Think of other ways to trick your friends. Sometimes asking two quick questions in a row works well. (Especially tag questions: Are you new here? This is your first time in America, isn't it?).

After that i developed the topic “so and such”  it was a review of Mary’s class, the Ss already know about it so they have more practice about the topic.
I end the class by giving the Ss a candy. We enjoy the class, and the results were good!

Take care!!!

Blessings my dear classmates!!
